The factors that combine together to affect the health of the populations are known as determinants of health. These factors include the environment where we live, our genetic composition, lifestyle, education level and our relationship with family and friends. Although one might not be born with a disease, they might be at high risk of acquiring it because of their genetic composition. Additionally, the circumstances in the environment where we live and individual behaviors also play a role in determining health outcomes. This paper, therefore, aims to describe the interaction of genes, lifestyle and the environment in the health of a population.
