In every society, the health status of population is related to the factors in which person born and live. There are many determinant of health which also impact on the health and wellbeing of women.in Australia the health of women is very important, Australian woman population of woman was 50.02% in year of 2014. The total population 22,507,617 and woman were 11,223438. The woman fertility rate was 1.77 children /woman and Contraceptive prevalence rate was 72.3% at the age 18-44 year. The literacy rate of Australian woman was 99% in 2003. Maternal mortality rate was 7death /100,000 live births in 2010. Woman are Iive longer than man, there was 1,828,611 …show more content…
Two major determinant which effect on the health of women are addiction and lack of social support. The number of behaviour factors that may have lethal effect on health of women and may cause some diseases. Women may have suffered with many psychological circumstance such as long terms stress due isolation, work burden and insecurity cause changes in the behaviour of females. These all types of stressor cause poor mental and physical health. As a result of stress some women starts to take over use of drugs such as smoking, consumption of alcohol to get relief from stress, they become addicted to drugs. Smoking has been increase the risk of chronic disease such as heart disease stroke and cancer. (Stallings, M. C., Hewitt, J. K., Beresford, T., Heath, A. C., & Eaves, L. J.1999) Moreover, excessive consumption of alcohol causes many diseases such as liver damage, kidney damage and it also effect on mental behaviour because after drinking alcohol, a person loss control on his behaviour. By using These all substances, people waste their money and they become socially isolated due their bad behaviour in society. another social determinant lack of social support. Social relationship is essential for individual to live happy life and for emotional support. In addition to it, a person feels socially secure if she has good social relation in their life. However, without social support some women may suffer with depression and high level of violence such as sexual violence, domestic and family violence. (Audrain-McGovern, J., Lerman, C., Wileyto, E. P., Rodriguez, D., & Shields, P. G. (2004). It is assumed that more than half of total population of women suffered with sexual and domestic violence in their life.
