I. Solar Roadways A. Brief History
There is an impending power crisis in the Philippines and the government is spending 450 million pesos to avert it. Energy authorities in the Philippines believe that the shortfall would be as much as 1004 megawatts per day. In one hour, the sun produces 380,000,000,000,000,000,000 megawatts of energy. These two realities point to a sharp contrast, that many countries in the world are threatened over energy crises and a great source of energy is not being significantly harnessed.
With this in mind, Julie Brusaw & Scott Brusaw are a couple living in Sandpoint, Idaho that created a device which can replace asphalt with a specially designed plates that can absorb …show more content…
The design of solar roadways can potentially attract tourists from other countries with it 's many features, increasing the inflow of foreign currency for the Philippines. This happens through the renewable energy it creates, the good it could do for the environment, and it 's design which could attract tourists to the Philippines. Concretely, this research has successfully shown the positive effects these roadways can cause. First of all, the various articles that has been viewed and processed has to show the success and support that Solar Roadways has and is receiving. In the articles of Lyndsey Glipin for the site TechRepublic, it is seen that the testing of Solar Roadways was done and it is also seen that it does infact work, which proves the device is doing well. The estimation made by Michael Naphan shows that if applied completely, this device could revolutionize a country and make the way that the country 's citizens use the energy in the Philippines, clean and not wasteful because the energy made from the roadways is "free" energy. The possibility with all the extra energy that the Philippines could generate if said roadways were deployed here are endless. Filipinos could live in a more advanced society where technology is the basis. Pinoys would be known as one of the first countries to have these kinds of roads and will be one of the first countries to take the steps on the road to the future of better living. Second of all, the benefits that the Solar Roadways contributes environmentally does support
