No matter what happens, they trust each other with everything that they have. For example, in the story the two hobbits come upon Gollum—a creature that they tame and force to be their guide to Mordor. Gollum could never be trusted because he was a past owner of the ring and wanted it back, but that was the only way they could get to Mordor. Gollum tries various ways to get the ring back but fails each time. He tries to break the two friends apart by leaving traces of crumbs by Frodo and taking all the food for himself. Sam knows Frodo would not do such a thing, showing the bond of trust that can never be broken between them. They helped each other mentally and physically through the journey, like Gandalf said, “'And Frodo wouldn't have gotten far without Sam” (409). Saying that without Sam, Frodo would not have made it far, Sam was there for emotional and physical help. “ In his lap lay Frodo's head, drowned in sleep; upon his white forehead lay one of Sam's brown hands, and the other lay softly upon his master's breast” (386). Sam stayed awake as he comforted Frodo so he could sleep

She interestingly proposes insights never before considered involving the intriguing woman at the center of the conflict. She endeavors to present an immense amount of insight into what passed through the seemingly complex mind of Guerre’s wife, Bertrande de Rols. De Rols is portrayed as the protagonist as opposed to the usual choice, the man behind the deceit, du Tilh. Davis attempts to accurately answer the question of whether or not Bertrande was aware of du Tilh’s deception or if she was as deceived as the rest of the villagers.…
