Dessie M. Sanders, is the next President of Grambling State University. She genuinely exemplifies the leadership that this university truly needs. I came to know Ms. Sanders when she came from Grambling and was hired two weeks into the fall semester at Wiley College two weeks, as an English Instructor. Her direct ability in demonstrating, in-depth knowledge of research, Common Core State Standards (CCSS), comprehensive assessment systems, and practice in curriculum, instruction, and assessment is what we needed in Developmental Reading and Writing, AVID and Educational Leadership under the Division of Social Sciences and Humanities. Ms. Sanders’s leadership skills, proved knowledgeable about understanding of strategic planning and student accountability
