Ross Gardam is an Australian furniture designer who started his career in 2007. He is a part of stylecraft with also his own Compony [Ross Gardam]. Ross creates furniture with both a traditional and modern style using local manufacturers to help him. He incorporates various modern feels into his work which is pleasing to the eye. He mainly works with chairs and lighting. His athletically pleasing products result in highly rated pieces of art that stand out above the rest. His work generally have a nature oriented theme and have various designs.

After working in the industrial industry for a while he made his own company in 2007 and from then on been expanding his business till today.
He says that Ideas need to bloom so you should take your time, in both design and production, I presume. He was inspired by international designers like Benjamin Hubert and Patricia Urquiola and Australian designers like Adam Goodrum and Alex Lotersztain. But he is more inspired by beauty and process of materials which can be seen by his work.
He likes challenges because it give him a “grounding for his work” (Ross Gardam). To me this shows that he is willing to overcome obstacles to get a piece of work up to an extremely high standard.
Ross Gardam inspires me because of his perseverance and state of mind that he has for his work ethics, his work is just so pleasing to me and his different ‘modern’ design and style influences me to show this style in my work also seeing how much he does to get these outstanding results makes me want to perceiver and work harder for my goals.

He is really humble and wouldn’t like to live anywhere else but Brisbane. He likes to use his creative side of his brain and use his family, friends and surroundings as inspiration. His work correlates to his life meaning that he is a bit quirky, bright and inspirational.
Derlot (Alex’s compony) mainly focus’ on Furniture and lighting manufacture but they also do interior design and also exterior design. They also makes little trinket items as well, including spoons, drink bottles etc.
He is an inspiration to me because of his love and passion for his work and family, this inspires me to focus on both social and practical sides of my life. His work also inspires me by seeing how far I could push my ideas before its impossible. Also His work is eye catching to me and I would feel I could see myself in the same place as this man.
Alex studied Design in university, he was awarded the the inaugural Premier Smart State Designer of 2010. He started worked in the design business and then created Derlot his design company and from then on has been building onto
