Designer Babies Research Paper

Designer babies are genetically modified embryos, usually to resolve any inherited genetic disorders as well as to amplify desired qualities. With that being said, designer babies are being created due to the fact this can save many lives. This then can extend the life of the offspring, which can pass down the better genes to generation to generation. Designer babies are being created with many techniques and is in the progress of finding the better, more efficient technique of them all. However, designer babies are still being questioned if it is right to go against the natural process as well as the designer baby being accepted into society. With all that being said, designer babies are new, upcoming field in science and in hopes to progress even more into the future.

In doing so, there are many technologies that are advancing towards designer babies. The first one, which is still in the experimental stage, analyzes fetal cells that are isolated from the maternal blood in order to reduce complications associated with amniocentesis, samping of the amniotic fluid with a needle into the uterus to screen for developmental abnormalities.
