Interviewer: Not so much when he was a baby.

Crystal: No, I couldn’t even ask them to help me. Can you get a diaper for me in the room please; I have to change the baby, and they were like, no. I would have to yell at them to go get it right now for them to listen to me. Now, it is good and they will take care of him.

The second story shows how The Grand Canyon can be very fascinating; therefore the author has trouble explaining his whole trip. I observed him carefully as he walked to the door. I knew that time was running out but suppressed the urge to check my watch. I took a deep breath and started counting in reverse under my breath. “Ten, nine, eight, seven…” I didn’t even finish counting when he turned the handle. I watched as the whole building exploded into smithereens, an explosion that resonated even 5 miles away.…

In the first few weeks of my father’s senior year in high school he was called into the principal’s office and he was told, “Mr. Bragdon, if you don’t start showing up for school I am going to expel you.” See at the time, dad’s single mother of four was struggling to pay the bills, which meant he needed to do whatever he could to supply the family with an additional income. In and around the Arid Recovery Reserve in northern South Australia, ten reintroduction attempts were conducted between 1998 and 2008. A fenced reserve (cats, foxes and rabbits had been eradicated) five locally-extinct mammal species and one reptile species were reintroduced. The reintroduction of Macrotis lagotis were successful based on criteria that included continued survival after eight years, increased distribution across the large Reserve and recovery after a drought event. Outside the Reserve, where cats and foxes were present although poison baiting programs were in place, reintroduction attempts of the greater bilby were unsuccessful. The high death rate of the bilby was credited to predation from cats and foxes (Moseby et al. 2011).…

The previous stories of the Nights are a good point to begin our discussion of blackness and racial discrimination in the stories. While The Arabian Nights presents stories about the Islamic empire, it foists stories of slavery and blackness. Unlike the Atlantic trade slaves, slaves in the Arabian Nights “inhabit a different history from plantation slaves, and do not fit easily into abolitionist discourse: they were more frequently domestic or military. ”(Slavery, blackness) In The Arabian Nights, there is not a single black hero in either the Syrian or the Bulaq versions.…
