Descriptive Writing Sacajawea Middle School

I walk into the red brick building of Sacajawea Middle School. I heave the door open and set foot into the eventful day coming. The commons are buzzing as usual like bees frantically trying to collect their honey. The lockers slamming shut, the laughing, footsteps, and hushed whispers morph into a gentle murmur encasing me. I walk up to my friends Jayden and Rachel, who are laughing at one of the many puns that flutter through the halls. When the first bell is about to ring the three of us gather our things and and scurry to our class.

I place my binder on the floor of my keyboarding access class. The laughing and socializing continues until the teacher enters the room. In the midst of her giving directions the light flicker away and we are left in silent darkness. “Youve been warned I tell you! You have been warned! The gods are angry and all is disturbed! Oh how they are. Oh how they are!” the bombarding voice rushes through the hall to give note to all of the students. Most of the students puzzled and confused others laughing in hysteria in the class rush to turn on the lights, eager to track the mysterious voice. The class, shortly thereafter is dismissed and the dumbfounded students make their way to their next class.

He was a frightful sight almost nearly impossible to believe. I shook my head trying to shake the day dream out of my head, only it was

A hot summer afternoon it was. Julia, my host at Innisfree HawalBagh (Uttarakhand), showed me the walk way to Kosi river. Walking down was comfortable under the shade of deodar trees on a sunny blue sky day. As soon as I reached the river, I could not resist myself from a swim. I saw few ladies from the nearby village, filling water.…

My ears ring as the old school bus screeches to a halt. We hop off, and a dry, winter gust smacks my face. Instantly, the frigid wind sends my nose running. Walking towards the back door of the school, I grasp the cold metal handle, open it, and slam a piece of wood underneath to keep it ajar. After we become accustom to the cold shock, Mrs. Cimenski, our director, orders us to haul the heavy wooden tables and a set of four lockers toward our designated backstage area.…

Palms sweating, heart beating, ankles quivering(parallelism). just feet from the end of the tightrope; my body was ready to give up. It was late fall and the once colorful leaves on the ground were turning a dismal brown(sight imagery). They made loud crunching sounds(sound imagery) under our feet as my project challenge class walked toward the tightrope course. Chatting with my friends David and Joey, none of us were aware of what was lurking in our futures.…

I parked my 2006 Red Toyota Corolla in between two yellow school buses. Gathering my crinkled coffee stained sheet music and my scratched viola case I began the familiar walk up to Bloomington High School’s glass doors. It was a chilly early morning but the sunrise warmed my face and as I reached the entrance to the school, the jumbled cacophony of sound coming from the gym on the left reached my ears. Snippets of the trumpet melody would ring out and the vibration of the low tuba sound could be felt, the just sharp violin scales were sorry sounds to my ears and the range of male and female voices singing in different keys topped off the pandemonic mess of sound. Students were hustling and bustling about with instruments of all different…

Drive Out Hate “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” This is a quote by Martin Luther King Jr, a Baptist minister, social activist, and someone who played a key role in the American civil rights movement from the mid-1950s until his assassination in 1968. This quote means that to drive out the darkness, you need to have light. This quote relates to an experience I had two years ago in fifth grade when I did something I hated doing, but something changed that day.…

The melting warmth of the white porcelain sends a ray of sunshine through the soft, pink ,palms of my dead hands, causing my fingertips to bud like pink tulips in the Spring. Licking my sharp teeth, the stinging sensation of spearmint waltzes on my tastebuds. My index finger pushes pressure on a small, smooth piano key, and a waterfall caves into my eardrums, obliviating my sleep deprived thoughts. The sizzling and popping of the green leaves mending themselves with the white and yellow ooze on the scorching hot stove, sending a fragrant aroma of fresh Gouda through the air. As massive as the ocean is, seemingly incomparable in power to any other natural force, it dwindled in authority this evening. At the command of a deep, hearty, quaking thunder, a powerful concussion I felt through my legs milliseconds before the deafening roar commanded the attention of every beach goer in attendance that evening. The puffy white, cumulus clouds that formed giant pillows in the clear, sapphire blue skies, seemed to flee to find shelter, moving out hastily to provide space for the brooding, dark mass, an impenetrable, menacing darkness, stretching from the ends of the ocean. Even the Sun decided that it would be unwise to stick around, and disappeared behind the growing mass, which now enveloped the entire atmosphere.…

I hear a small buzzing as a small black insect whirls around my head twice then glides over to the smooth blue wall. No bigger than a pea, my companion is a dark fly who must have breezed in through my open window on the soft April winds. That seemingly insignificant bug and I have a lot in common.…
