I was in the center of a great gothic church almost entirely made up of grey stone. Surrounding the church and in little bits within the interior there was a rough seaweed like moss that hung from the stone or grew up from the yard that was in shades of bright pink and apple green. It did not occur to me right away what I was doing there as I scanned up and down the assembly of well dressed people sitting in folding chairs, since the church did not have pews. At the entrance before entering the church stood a woman in a wedding dress. Although she did not make eye contact with me the pastor and guests repeatedly gave me looks which made me fully realize that this was my wedding. A spear of panic shot through my veins. Pacing up and down the aisle then to the side of the church I knew I did not want to marry her. I hardly knew her. We had only started dating a couple weeks ago and before that she was the nude model who did yoga moves in drawing class. I thought she was dating that manly black football player I always saw her with. I supposed they must have broken up and I …show more content…
Alright I had the tux in order at least, now I need to find groomsmen. After taking a few quick steps forward it hit me that i also did not have a ring. It was almost time for the wedding to start. Should I tell someone that I had no tux, groomsmen, and no ring. Should they delay the wedding until I could get those. Heading towards the pastor and my soon to be Father-in-law I imagined where i could get a ring. I could quickly go to a jewelry store had i enough time or run to a pawn shop and grab a decent one. I had no sense of how much money I had and worried I miss Mark’s tux while I was gone. Maybe Someone else could go get the ring for me. No I could not let this go on any further. The girl I was to marry would have a ring waiting for her that held meaning to us. One that I picked out specifically for

In my ethnographic trip I headed to a Non-Denomination Hispanic Christian Church. They hold services every weekend so I specifically chose Sunday night to hear their message. I chose this church because I have a grandmother who attends here and I felt comfortable to have someone I knew guide me. My initial thoughts prior to visiting this church was the same as the other churches I had visited before. I expected to walk in and sit down with no one really paying much attention to me.…

Spanish Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church 1. What happened during the services? I arrived at the church a few minutes prior to the service and I was greatly surprised by how well attended the service was. There were dozens of families in a spectrum of Sunday best and work-stained denim jeans and nearly every person wore a yellow and white vest with a red cross embroidered on the lapel. At the entrance there was a small dipping well and although there was no water in it at the moment, (most likely due to the sizeable crowd) people still placed their fingers in the dry well and crossed themselves before entering the chapel and before sitting, they would cross themselves again.…

Performing a number of experiments in an attempt to communicate with the Bigfoot, I established what is known as a “feeding station.” It is a location where the researcher will place gifts and food, in hopes the Bigfoot will take one or both, and reciprocate by leaving a gift. The feeding station I established was located in what looked to be a “day shelter.” I had located it a few weeks earlier while investigating the area.…

She was one of those pretty and charming girls born, as if by an error of fate, into a family of clerks. She had no dowry, no expectations, no means of becoming known, understood, loved or wedded by a man of wealth and distinction; and so she let herself be married to a minor official at the Ministry of Education. She dressed plainly because she had never been able to afford anything better, but she was as unhappy as if she had once been wealthy. Women don't belong to a caste or class; their beauty, grace, and natural charm take the place of birth and family. Natural delicacy, instinctive elegance and a quick wit determine their place in society, and make the daughters of commoners the equals of the very finest ladies.…

While The Odyssey might, upon first glance, involve godly intervention against humans to advance its plot, the true conflict that drives the whole story is the selfish and arrogant nature of men against other men. The human-on-human conflict is the very cause of all the other three classical conflicts, as a conflict between humans often escalates to a conflict against the Greek gods, a war against oneself, and finally a war against the powerful forces of nature. Human arrogance and pride are the sole causes of the situations that the characters, both mortal and immortal, face in The Odyssey. The human-on-human conflict in The Odyssey is the driving factor behind godly intervention, which means that a conflict involving humans and gods is, in…

The couple wasn’t able to have kids, that’s why she decided to sell her eggs. Women should donate their eggs to infertile couple, if they choose not to have any children. On discussing the topic of women’s roles in China, I think the movie, Mulan, truly identifies what a Chinese woman was about. Women in China were often ignored and treated with little respect. They were often spotted indoors doing house work, while their husband were outside doing all the hard labor. Also, as a woman, there were a lot of expectations of bringing honor to the family that were all mentioned in the film. In my opinion, Mulan is historically accurate when analyzing on the topic of women.…
