It had been the ninth time that I had smoothed out the not existent wrinkles on my dress. I was nervous. He was going to get married today. Just the thought of it made my heart ache, so I just stood there, in front of my mirror. I looked down at my dress. It was a nice royal blue. I looked back up at my eyes. They hadn't shined in years, but I didn't care. It had become a regular part of my life. My eyes shifted and glanced at the clock hanging on my wall and realized that it was time to go. I grabbed my black purse and walked towards the door. I took one last look behind me at my messy and tattered apartment then left. My legs moved with a nice pace as I walked down the never ending halls of my apartment and smiled remembering all the kind …show more content…
We walked in and luckily the other person was also heading to the first floor. I listened to the sound of the cliche elevator music that they never seemed to change. The elevator dinged and I walked out. I walked past the doorman who didn't even lift his head. Then, I began the short walk to the church. It hadn't started yet and many people were just lingering around. A kid near the doors was playing with his small toys trucks. He crushed them against each other and I gave him a small sad smile. He still had all his innocence and I would do anything to get mine back. I'd did a quick sweep of everyone and no one was approaching me or even noticed me. I dropped my gaze and watched the breeze blow through the trees. Finally, after about half an hour the doors opened and we were allowed inside. People walked inside with a happiness that just radiated off of them. I sat near the back of the church where I could watch from a safe distance. He approached the front of the church and stood there with a smile that could light up a room. That smile only seemed to grow when the Wedding March began to play in the background and the church doors …show more content…
I could've been inside that dress if I hadn't broken both of our hearts all those years ago. For a moment I thought we made eye contact with him, but that was impossible. No one had noticed me for five years. The last time they had, I was being lowered into the

Today is going to be just like any other day, I sketched in my morning journal. The morning Baltimore sun shone past the skyscrapers of downtown, and light protruded through the silk blinds that covered half of the picture window in my room. I rose up from my queen bed. The sheets had become untucked and the comforter lay halfway off the edge. My back rested against the mahogany headboard with my head fitting perfectly between two of the wooden posts.…

There are little bits and pieces of day to day life that I think of fitting together like a puzzle in order to form who we are. Some of the bigger events can have a profound ripple effect and can even change the way we perceive our friends, family and the world around us. Some of these changes are more subtle or subconscious, while others are very apparent such as a new job or a death. The most recent of these events was my grandmother passing.…

The Last Day Sweat was gleaming off my face as I finished lifting our couch into my mother’s van. It was a familiar action, we has always been moving around.
