Descriptive Football Field

When life becomes too much or I just want to have fun and relax my number one place to go is the ball fields. The field is where I go, because it is where my heart belongs. The ball field’s best feature is its green inner diamond shape, with grainy, brown dirt surrounding it, and the always freshly cut, stripped green grass making up the outfield. You’ll be able to smell the fresh cut grass and the cool breeze constantly flowing by to keep you calm and relaxed while you’re playing. When you walk into the metal diamond pattered fence wrapping around the outermost of the field, you feel free and weightless like you are floating in outer space. You begin stretching before you start your peaceful practice. You run a lap around the metal fence

As soon as I take a step out on the field, I forget everything outside of baseball. Before every game, I warm up by taking ground balls. Transgender issues in softball have become increasingly more aware in society, which brings up issues on the rules and regulations pertaining to the game. A transgender person should only be allowed to hit the ball size of their sex designated at birth unless they adhere to the rules and regulations pertaining to the league of choice. According to the United States Specialty Softball Association (USSSA) Official Rulebook, “men are not permitted to compete on women’s teams in USSSA sanctioned events” to ensure the safety of women players. This may seem a bit unfair, but when competing in women’s or coed softball tournaments there is a big difference.…

High School sports take competition to levels that are great and as schools dominate the sport more money is poured into facilities. A common renovation for football fields is the change in field grounds to artificial turf. The turf enhances athletes’ sport performance which provides the best traction, injuries are less, and drainage during all weather conditions. I have had the opportunity to compete in some super nice track and field stadiums, the late 70’s and early 80s. The stadiums includes a press box and the track surface was all-weather including a quarter-mile running track with a 200 yard straight-away, pole vaulting and jumping pits.…

The Chicago Cubs crew said, “we cannot run on the grass rounded third base because if you have the wrong shoe you could kill their grass.” I ran the bases as fast as I could and I felt that was the fastest I ever ran the bases. After I was done running the bases I looked from home plate out to centerfield and looked at Wrigley Field to look at the perspective of a hitter and what they seen while they are up there it was the best MLB stadium that I will ever go…

Baseball: the sport where you stand around for 20 minutes and move 3 feet to the left and move 3 feet to the right. It’s so intense. It’s so intense that you could take a nap on the field with everything out there. Of course, I’m being sarcastic. The only time it’s actually fun is when you’re annihilating the other team while they’re asleep on the field.…

Tires crunched on the loose gravel parking lot as I was dropped off at my high school’s tennis courts on the first day of school. With my high school requiring a year of physical education, I opted to take the lifetime sport for I was nervous to compete for a spot on the highly competitive teams my school was known for. I was met at the court by 30 other freshmen with a mixed variety of expertise spanning from the first time to ever hold a racquet to a district ranked player. The district ranked player’s father, Mr. Weaver, was a sophomore chemistry teacher who happened to play tennis professionally in his heyday.
