This is taking place on July 13, 2018, my baseball team and I are playing in the Kansas State Championship for baseball. It’s the bottom of the 9th and we are batting right now. The score is 10 to 10. We need one more run to win the game and we have Camron on third base. Let’s just say we thought we wouldn’t make it this far. Trust me, we thought we were a complete blowout.

“You guys are looking good so far do you think we can keep this up the entire season. Maybe go to state?” Coach said
Tedwin then said “Yeah right we’ll make it to state.”
Coach then said in a mysterious voice “You will get what you work for.” We were doing really good overall in the season. We played 40 games and we were going undefeated until the 21st game we lost to the Bears. We are supposed to play them 3 times this season and this was the first. Tedwin was so surprised he yelled “Oh my gosh, how did we actually make it to the championship this is crazy I thought we would be a total blow out.”
Coach Jeff said it again “You get what you worked for and you worked hard and got to the

Therefore, this was a team of small freshmen and sophomores playing against mostly juniors and seniors at the varsity level in one of the most talented high school conferences in the state. We finished the season 1-15, most of which were pretty tough losses but we worked hard and left it all on the field every game and that in the end is all that matters. The most prevalent memory was after the last game all the players were pretty upset about how it went but our coach ended our last huddle with, “We came into this season knowing it would be challenging and we worked hard from start to finish and I think we ended this season better than we started, which means that next year is gonna be a pretty good…

When our new Coach reminded us that we were unified and could stand with one another knowing that we’d triumph, we were rejuvenated. Commencing our execution of every meet in intention, we were conscious that our effort would amount to…

The shot clock went off and before you knew it we had lost. The Huskies actually lost in the championship, and unable to go undefeated for another season. We were shocked, some of us even in tears. We saw the Heat hold the trophy as we received our 2nd place medals, which meant nothing coming from winning so much. We walked out of that gym with our heads down and in disbelief.…
