Despite the hustle and bustle, everyone politely gave each other space as they climbed the ramp. He witnessed all of this from his position up on the deck, his body pressed against the cold steel of the hand rail. He flicked the remainder of his food into the bin beside him, hearing it thunk against the metallic bottom, as a shipmate rushed over to his side. “C-captain! We should be ready to depart any minute now,” he stuttered, his skin as pale as the clouds above them. “Alright then, try to calm down, alright, kid?” the Captain said, giving him a soft pat on the shoulder before walking through the ship, getting to the bridge just before the last of the passengers filtered in. …show more content…
“Okay, boys, let’s get this show on the road,” he nodded over to the crew around him as he wrapped his fingers around the wheel. A smile grew on his face as he began to feel the powerful tug of the Titanic as the engines roared into life. The crew were desperately trying to follow orders but the screaming wind and crashing thunder made it almost impossible to hear even the loudest of commands and the violence of the heaving sea made it even harder for them to obey. In the flare of a jagged flash of lightening I watched helplessly as a man was catapulted over the bow of the ship. “Man o'er board!…

Although there were many different factors that played a role into the sinking of the Titanic, the weather played a huge role into it. It was clear with no moon, and the sea was completely calm, making it hard to tell if any danger was ahead (Cummins). After the Titanic had hit the iceberg, only one ship answered its distress signals; the Carpathia, but it unfortunately came when too many people had died and the crew members on the ship were only able to rescue 700 survivors (“Titanic Sinking”). Many people died that horrific night, but it the outcome of deaths would’ve been smaller if the ship would have had enough lifeboats for all of the passengers on board. There wasn’t enough lifeboats on the ship because the company that the Titanic came from; the White Star Line did not want to clutter the deck of the first class (Schama).…
