When I was 11, I played in many soccer games. I was very good for my age and so was my team. We rarely lost during that amazing season. When I signed up for this soccer team in autumn, I did not know what to expect. At the tryouts, there were many kids that had odd and different hobbies than I had. Of course everybody on the pitch knew the core videogames that everyone played, Madden for example. That was all I would talk about with them. Apart from that similarity, I thought that they were totally different than me. The people were as boring as a rock.
After the tryout I told my dad what I had thought. “Those kids and I will never get along.” My dad, being the most intelligent of them all had said, “Have you ever tried the activities they enjoy doing.” I was very confused and …show more content…
The sound of kids screaming was music to my ears. I quickly grabbed the bright blue ball and started shooting on the net. The soccer ball was my friend. More and more kids started to pile on the field. I heard them talking about what they had done over the winter. I started to feel out of place because I never did any of the activities that they had done. I started to feel depressed about the incoming practice when my dad walked up to me. He said to try and do the activities that they were doing. He said that I would have more fun then. I was all about more fun, however, I was a nervous wreck. I did not know what to say to those kids. I took a deep breath of the spring breeze, and walked over to the other kids. To my surprise they let me join. We played together for the rest of practice. When practice was over, I begged my dad to let me go over to my new best friend’s house. With a big smile and overwhelming joy, my dad gladly let me for the rest of the day.
