Descriptive Essay: Pet Peeve

Pet Peeve essay Everyone has pet peeves. People have something that annoys them. It can be a person, a sound, a thing that makes you feel annoyed. I have several pet peeves that bother me. For example, I hate when people come late; people who send me a game request on Facebook, even I am not playing the game at all; people left the food in the sink after they are done with their washing dishes or not washing them at all. Of all these pet peeves, one made me most uncomfortable is when people leave leftover the food in the sink and do not clean the dishes. When I was in Vietnam, my older brother has OCD, so he basically cleans entire house every Saturday. My mom is the same, they both like cleaning. My house most of the time is very clean …show more content…
I can not stop myself from thinking of the way sink-left-food will be a great attraction for the most terrible creature of all mankind - cockroaches and mice. Definitely, I do not feel well thinking about them. When I was in Vietnam, one night, my brother saw a cockroach in his room. At 10:00 P.M, he took out all blanket, pillows, mattress and clean entire room in 2-3 hours. I grew up in that type of family, where I have been raised that I have to clean up my own mess, especially the kitchen and dining area because it is where my family eats our meals. I have found that coming home to see a clean and well-organized kitchen with a clean sink and empty counter space can improve my mood and helps me feel more achieved. However, I 'm not the person who is so obsessed with hygiene and cleanliness. In a house where different people live together and share the same facilities, keeping hygiene in those places is a must. It all the normal stuff, like dry mouth, could drink water. Smoking? Throw them in a trashcan when you were done. If you have to eat your food or made your meal. Just clean it, after you done yourself, be aware of people around you because people do stereotype you, like someone who unorganized, unreliable someone who peopled do not want to be around. Whenever I go back home exhausted from a long study day, the dishes and leftover food piled in the sink just stress …show more content…
I have explained my personal experience on this topic as well. Sadly, so many people do not realize that they do this or how much it annoys people like me. I think my pet peeves are normal pet peeves that anyone could probably have. That might be a no-matter-problem but if you let it be without having any solution, one day, it will be exploded like a bomb and its fire will end every relationship that takes time and patience to build up. Who knows if there is a relationship you want to keep it for life but end up that way! Be aware of it and take action when it

When people act obnoxious and disrespectful, I would just like to go up to them and say “I was at about six there. Don’t make me go to ten”, a quote said by Dale in Step Brothers. My pet peeves involve the disrespectful actions of high school students. It really irks me when people in band just don’t play their music correctly or march properly. If we have been practicing the same song for a short amount of time, then I understand if most don’t pick up the notes right away.…

The story “Mess” by John Hollander is interesting take on the concept on cleanliness and how the human mind perceives it. Hollander starts out his essay by giving an example of how different people react to a mess. He refers to the subjects as X and Y. He states that what may seem messy to X, could be perfectly neat and orderly to Y. Hollander even goes as far to say that if Y had a pile a books, and X arranged all the books into a neat stack, the neat stack could appear to be utter chaos to Y. After this profound example, the article continues to go on and list all the different kind of messes that exist in our lives. Hollander breaks the messes into different categories such as outdoor messes, indoor messes, personal states, and personal appearance messes.…

This assignment offers you the occasion to write a letter to the editor of any newspaper, business, or organization that you choose. Typically, these types of letters are written in response to articles in such publications, or in response to some local issue that might be also connected to a national one. Readers also respond to the inclusion of specific ads, especially their design or content, in publications. So, to begin with, consider an issue about which you have a strong opinion or “pet peeve”—something that bothers you or something that you think ought to be changed. Eventually you should also read carefully through one of your chosen publications—the one to which you will address your letter.…

To Be a Slob or Not to Be While some people still hold to the fact that working one’s hardest and not appearing to seem lazy is in one’s best interest, others may try to explain how making the minimum effort of doing things can have greater perks than trying to do the best of one’s ability. In this case, Andy Simmons, the author of the article “I’m a Slob, and You Should Be One Too”, fails to deliver an effective article that suggests being a slob is a good thing and negatively encourages others to join his stance. Andy Simmons’s claim that being a slob results in benefits is flawed because making up one’s bed can develop valuable habits, having a cluttered desk can lead to anxiety, and doing nothing instead of being active can have negative…

Being persistent is a great quality to have and aim for because it means that you do not quit easily no matter how difficult the circumstances that may come your way are. Gladwell even implies that persistence is automatically good throughout chapter 8 of “Outliers” by using the rice farmers in China as an example; however, there are situations when persistence causes problems. When a person is too persistent, it comes off as annoying. For instance, when a man is courting a girl and she turns him down or gives hint that she does not see him the way he sees her, it is irritating on the girl’s part; however no one is to blame for this because we cannot alter our emotions in an instant even if we wanted to; it takes time. We shouldn’t be apologetic…

I decided to conduct my interview on Mrs. Heckman for this particular assignment because last year I worked in her classroom during an undergrad course and I really liked her classroom management style. I believe that she is fulfills the expert aspect for this paper because like with most classes, she has a very diverse classroom when it comes to behaviors, yet it is clearly apparent that her class is more managed when comparing other classrooms. Mrs. Heckman has 38 years of teaching experience where she has taught third grade for eight years; kindergarten for ten years; and first grade for twenty years. The following…

Also, when someone is considered "weird," the walls of stereotypes come up and they don't let the "weird" person in. This is also known as excluding others, and that is a form of bullying. This wall should be broken.…
