It wasn’t long before I met up with Cecil. Cecil had been my friend for only a year or two, but it felt as if we had spent an eternity together. We just knew each other like we knew our own homes. I could easily pick out his sandy blonde hair and grin from a crowd, and that’s exactly what I did. Amidst the chaos ensuing on the streets, I easily found him, hefting a small sword. I jogged over, eyes wide. He only grinned. “Are you ready to kick your robot’s--” He was cut off by the sound of a scream and more people rushing around. I rolled my eyes. “Come on, let’s just hurry!” I insisted, grabbing his arm and dragging him into the city. We weren’t that far in when I got a text. I stopped on the side, Cecil poking around as I looked at my phone. “My friends are coming to meet you. You will be nice, won’t you?” My heart froze. Friends? What did it mean by that? Were humans helping it? Or had it...well, I didn’t want to finish that thought. That’s when I heard the screech of gears and metal. That’s when a huge dragon robot slammed its huge metal paws into the concrete. That’s when I heard a deafening roar from a couple streets down and shrill shrieks of horror. And then I was face to face with it, its eye only feet away. Cecil seemed to have disappeared, and the background noise muted. Or at least muffled.
