Once we finally set off for the campground, I am more than just exhausted; I am so tired I cannot keep my eyes open. In the car, the other Scouts are carrying on a lively conversation, but I am so exhausted that I nod right off to sleep. No doubt I attracted more than a few looks. When I wake up, the car is crunching on a gravel road. I am guessing that we finally arrived at the campsite. The car grinds to a stop, I put on my headlamp, and my fellow Scouts lead the way onto the campground. It is pitch black outside. Since this is my first camping trip, I am a novice at tent pitching. I am literally left in the dark. Unfortunately, my tent buddy is also reasonably new to the troop, and he is not quite sure what to do either. Since it is windy, the tarp that the tent will be erected on continues to billow and knock him over. It takes the both of us a full hour to set up the tent, and by that time, my nerves are positively wrecked. I would love to unroll my sleeping bag and just say goodnight, but the other Scouts urge me to join them around a campfire to roast marshmallows and make s’mores. I am not able to resist the
