Descriptive Essay On Women's Soccer Players

The day was flawless; it was eight o’clock in the morning on a Saturday. I felt the tiredness of the night still upon me, but I still wanted to watch the great game of soccer. While driving into the complex, all I could focus on were the amount of cars that swarmed the parking lot. The dew covered the grass like a giant comforter. The rows of soccer fields, parallel to one another, seemingly stretched on forever. I got out of the car and I heard every car that drove past wheels crunch the rocks underneath them. As I walked towards the field I felt the dew from the grass being flicked onto my legs. I pulled my chair out of its bag, unfolded it and sat down. The game started almost as soon as I sat down. I’ve grown to enjoy watching soccer - especially women’s. Women seem to be tougher than men in this situation. When a girl gets pushed down she doesn’t just fall down and cry about it. She gets right up and keeps playing, no complaints. This is why I have respect for women's soccer players. First one since the start of the game. I figured that it was just a penalty, but this turned out to be much worse. Our goalie was lying in the goal motionless. The referee jogged to her. I assume he was asking her the general “are you okay?” question, as well as other pointless ones. Eventually the coach and what I guessed to be her parents were on the field as well. Everyone sitting on the sideline was mute. We all knew something was wrong. Someone must have called an ambulance because one showed up at the field, sirens blaring. Paramedics rushed the field with a gurney in their hands. They examined her closely and carefully moved her body onto the gurney. Once they loaded her up into the ambulance they sped off the same way they came in. Everybody on our field and the ones surrounding it were totally speechless.
