I embark along the trail almost every day and nature encourages me to become calmer. People pass by me every day and although not all use the trail to relax, they all use the trail in order to experience nature. Some people say that nature is good for the soul and I couldn't agree more. Nature can help people escape from the routine of regular life, whether through viewing the shimmering moon dangling in the night sky untouched by city lights or hearing the faint whistle of wind blowing into thin and crisp leaves. The Frisco-Highline Trail is just one of a plethora of ways to experience the joys of the outdoors.

Which is a green circle around the size of a Frisbee with a large white 5.5 written in the center. These markers were recently added and show every tenth of a mile. As the sun gradually begins to overwhelm me with its onslaught of light and its burdensome warmth pelting my skin, I enter the trail. On either side, lines of the gnarled brown trees surround the trail. Although the trees are similar in size, there are dozens of different kinds of trees such as cedar, pine and oak. This often makes the trail look like the outdoor garden section of Lowes with all of the different types just scattered around with no real order. The more I approach the beginning of the trail the more the honking of car horns and the roaring of engines passing by me beyond the trees eventually begins to fade. The highway slowly drifts away in the other direction out of sight allowing you to hear the faintest of sounds. Such as, the sound of the birds chirping from their nests in the trees, the wind making a faint whistling sound as it passes through the trees, or the rustling of small animals scurrying around you. The tranquility of the trail can overcome anyone with the serenity of traveling along
