I went on a hot Friday afternoon in August. The heat was unbearable. My hair stuck to my face and neck, and I could feel the sweat trickling down my back, making me squirm in discomfort. The restaurants and bars were pretty empty, and the street felt just a little desolate. The walk to Cineleisure suddenly became painfully long with the sun mercilessly shining on me.

Their incessant talking and laughter became increasingly loud as if they were competing with the blaring music from the speakers. I was sure that it would be a very close fight. I hurried along before my eardrums suffer any further damage.
What greeted me at the entrance of the mall were hundreds of tiny red, blue and green lights and the snaking queue outside Marche. I stared at the lights a moment too long, making me disoriented. It felt like a psychedelic experience with the jarring noise in the background.
I watched the city transform when the moon hanged itself in the sky, breathing life into everything in its sight. I stopped and looked up towards the starless sky. The city lights that you love so much robbed the night sky of its stars. You would probably be laughing at me.
