Descriptive Essay On South Congress

South congress or SoCo as it’s called by most of Austin provides a fun filled genuine Austin experience full of things to do, see, and eat. It's the kind of place that people take their family when they come in from out of town and they want to take them to a place that perfectly represents Austin and what it's all about. However SoCo is also a great place to have a night out on the town with friends.

The atmosphere of SoCo is like no other. The air is filled with music from live bands that play at some of the restaurants. There is always someone out on the street doing something to entertain the crowd whether it be dancing, painting, singing, or just giving out compliments to the pedestrians as they walk by. Every once and awhile there is art show that happens in one of the lots right off the road and vendors from all over come to try and sell their unique produce to the public normally the vendors are selling some kind of jewelry.

The main thing that people go to SoCo to do, other than experience the unique culture, is shop. One of the more popular places to get something to eat while you're shopping is a pizza place called home slice, who is well known for their pizza by the slice and their calzones. In the main building they offer sit down dining but if customers would rather get their pizza to go they have a separate building that is right next door called more home slice. They bought the second building to take some of the orders out of the original kitchen so customers get their pizza faster. Another big place that people love going to be a little ice cream shop called Amy's ice cream that has become an Austin tradition with its themed signature
