Walking home from Spring Hill Elementary school, walking down the big hill where Ms. McCurdy’s big, scary, dog Damian would snarl and bark at My big brother Jyran, My little sister Jada and Me. Then Finally arriving on Maplehill Rd, running and laughing until we finally arrive at 4713. My granny’s house. Walking up the long driveway was like being an adventurer climbing up a big mountain. We walk into the house and in the Kitchen is our grandmother cooking something, sometimes it was greens and they’d always stunk. I would pinch up my nose in disgust, or times it would be chili and I would lick my lips or other times she wouldn’t be cooking at all. She would be downstairs in the basement or in the living room. She used to run a daycare so I …show more content…
It was a place where all of my family members would come all together and we would just hang out. My Uncles, my cousins, mom, dad, brothers, and sisters. I would especially love when my siblings would spend the night. We go down into the basement and have dance parties, play video games, and watch movies and sit on the couch. We loved the basement the best. It was the perfect place. But one of the best places was the room my granny had made built for us. The room had two closets, it was painted pink like a light bubblegum pink. my sisters and I had to share it so we compromised on the color of pink. Then My granny got someone to paint a dreamcatcher and all three picked what was going to be beside the dreamcatcher. There was a Unicorn, a butterfly, and a flower. I think I chose the butterfly because it was purple and it was my favorite color, A’Nya has chosen the Unicorn, and Jada chose the roses. Also, that room is where we got our dog Valentine. One of My Granny’s neighbors’ dog was pregnant and she would always come to my granny’s house. We would feed her sandwich meat and pet and play with her. At first, we didn’t know she was pregnant we just thought she loved to eat a lot. Then we noticed she was. A few days later she was all small and we found out that she had puppies under our room. We called the neighbors and then they said that we could keep one of the puppies when they get old …show more content…
She owned it and everything. Every time I was in trouble or needed someone, I had my Granny. She always had my back even when I was wrong. I love her and wish she was still here to this day. I guess you can say my Granny is my piece even if it's

We would stay down there until my granny called us up for dinner.…

To me my Michigan hero isn't just any average person here in Michigan but to everyone around them they were. This person was always kind to everyone she met and she was always there for me and for all her friends. She did lots for Ludington like help with the Fourth of July parade, the boat show, and she made sure everything worked and was good down at sportsman, Barley and Rye, and the Mitten Bar. But I don't know what I would do if my grandma was never alive. I have many times that I love about my grandma like any time my dad and my step mom would fight she would always be there to take me and my brother to go get ice cream or something so that we don't get involved in all the arguing.…
