There is nothing quite like flying a plane. It’s something almost everyone dreams of doing as a little kid, soaring through the sky like our favorite superheroes, but most never get to experience it. When approaching the Mooney 201, one might get a feeling of anticipation while looking at the beautiful shape of the cockpit as it slopes back toward the tail. The tail of a Mooney 201 is unique because it can actually be adjusted on its axis. My family owns a 201, ours is the 1983 model and has a white body with grey and red stripes going down toward the tail. The wings on a 201 slant upward slightly, so the Mooney get up to 201 miles per hour. It was one of the first single engine propeller planes to do so. As the pilot does his walk around the aircraft, some people might get a little worried by how light and flimsy it looks; my dad always joked about how it’s made of the same material as a beer can.

This will stop the plane from trying to drift up or down, but will keep itself level making it a lot easier for the pilot. This is done by spinning the trim wheel between the pilot and passenger seat, to make the plane want to go up spin backwards and the opposite for down. During sunset when the sky explodes with reds, yellows and oranges it’s easy to get lost in the beauty and just fly. Everything seems so peaceful, and there is a feeling of freedom and control that nothing else can give. Flying also gives a profound sense of self-worth to the pilot because he or she is responsible for the wellbeing of themselves and everyone with them. In the sky, one has complete control of direction, one has the choice to go where they want to go and no one can take that

Atticus whispered to him, and Tom Robinson was silent” (Lee 233).…
