As my day began, I did the same daily routine. Every day, I wake up, go to the bathroom, brush my teeth, brush my hair, change my clothes, grab my book bag and gym bag, fill up my water bottle, grab my keys, and, finally, head out of the door. This typically takes me about 30 minutes to do. But this day was different, something felt off. Every day, I wake up after my third alarm goes off. And I grumble off “really, it’s already time to go?” (roll eyes) “Can I just have 5 more minutes?” (Half-awake and still rolling eyes) Some days, I do give myself those extra minutes, but I realized, after this one time, I can’t trust myself to wake up on time.
I changed my 7:30 alarm to 7:35. When I woke, I felt great! (HUUUGGGEEE smile …show more content…
I started to press the gas and, before long, the speedometer read 85 mph (look & act surprised). Then (point finger) there was my next curve, I needed to slow down (put hand up) on this because it was sharp (make quick, sharp movement with hand). I made it through successfully (put fisted hand in air, happily). Then came another straightway (point finger). I kicked the gas to get the car to go 95 mph (motion hand forward). Before long (move both hands down) came the hardest obstacle of them all: the sharpest curve (move both hands up and down slowly). This curve had a reputation for sucking people in the ditch (move hand to side and look worried) because they go to fast around it. This curve also has a lot of trees (motion height) and sharp nature-filled things in it. I don’t know about you, but I know that I (point to self) would like to not (motion no) die today (point down). I started to pray (hand in a praying position) the Hail Mary. Miraculously (point hand), I somehow managed (surprising face) to slow down from 95 mph to 60 mph and made it through the terrible curve. Then (hold “then”) I kicked it up to 75 mph on the next straightaway before realizing that this (point down) straightaway led into city limits. And at that moment, I saw that the clock read that it was already 8:04 (look worried)! Within city limits, you can get pulled over and get a ticket. At this time, I was 16 and really wanted to get my full license. I decided to slow the car down to 65
