We were no longer going to be stuck in this desert. It felt like 100 pounds just lifted off of my shoulders. We could go back home now. As the helicopter slowly came to the ground, we all cried tears of joy. We all hugged each other so tightly that our heart stopped. As the helicopter came to a stop, the two men got out and we ran towards them with great joy. Before we got into the helicopter, we got a picture with these two wonderful men. Then, we got into the helicopter and headed to our home sweet

Many soldiers died from the bad conditions, but the ones who survived came out to be better soldiers because Washington trained them. The soldiers should have left Valley Forge because it was a place of death, illness, and bad supplies. In the Estimates of Illness and Deaths (Doc A), 2500 soldiers died and 50% of soldiers were ill. “Let’s go.” They hurried out to the car, and began driving through the streets, in excited and suspenseful silence until they reached the run-down paper factory. It had been shut down due to irreversible mold and termite damage, and the city hadn’t sold the property yet, so the whole looming structure still stood. Nicole got out of the car, staring breathlessly at the gloomy building littered with graffiti and broken glass. Zach reassuringly grabbed her hand and they walked up to the door.…

Over summer I went with some friends to the Johnson Shut-ins in Missouri. It was the first time I went camping in years and it was one of the coolest trips I’ve ever been on. It started with the drive which was about two and a half hours through isolated roads which eventually got kind of creepy because we were in the middle of nowhere, every house had confederate flags posted, and we were running out of gas.
