Personal Narrative: Nissan Altima

Improved Essays
Today is an average rainy morning. I 'm driving to school in Shelby a 1998 Nissan Altima. It 's a miracle this car still functions properly. The exterior and interior of the car are a complete and utter mess. My mom crashed the car once so a car that was originally gray now has a black bumper, it also has a shattered windshield, rusty windshield wipers, and for some odd reason three plastic rims are missing from the car. Now the interior of the car is quite similar to the exterior with dirty jackets, socks, fast food trash, and old rotting food: you can only imagine the unpleasant smells. The motor is still alive and running even though at every stop I make I hear this odd rattling sound that I imagine is just some old nut or bolt that 's not …show more content…
I turn the car off and make my way toward the school, and just as i 'm about to step into the cafeteria I see my friend Patrick. Patrick is an average sized guy but his puffy hair is deceiving making him look taller than he actually is. Patrick is a geeky fellow not only because he wears glasses but, because he tends to play yugioh and he does things like say “lol” instead of laughing. Some people actually find him cool, but I think that 's just because of his Longboard and nice hair. This fellow is my best friend not only because we have a “symbiotic” relationship but also because he is a good person. Often times, he is a little self centered but overall a good guy that I can relate to. As soon as Patrick sees me he says “hey ary we should skip french today”. I hate my french class and we have a test that I didn 't even study for so without a doubt I reply with “yes …show more content…
It 's a messed up car so I don 't really take her out on the highway. Today I had to do it, the road was wet from the rain. The day was foggy and my hands were sweating because Shelby started to tremble and shake. It was normal for the old car to tremble, but it still made me feel nervous! I didn 't feel safe, but i had to act normal so Patrick wouldn 't get scared. I pass the first exit and the smell of the car strikes my nose. The speed limit is 60 but I 'm going at a slow 55, Patrick tells me to speed up a bit so I do. We pass the second exit, my hands sweating my nose disgusted by the smell and then Patrick yells “ARY

On a beautiful clear morning of February the 19th, my mom picked me up from my class at the University of West Georgia, then we went to Waffle House to have a nice breakfast. We left from Waffle House, proceeding down Maple Street, and turned onto South Street and immediately onto Kenner Street. We then turned onto on the merging lane on South Park Street (US Hwy 27) heading south, we immediately halted to a full stop as vehicles moved from the middle lane into the merging lane in front of us, but at that time there were no vehicles behind us. As we waited to enter traffic, a car suddenly struck us from behind which caused the car to jerk violently forward, causing my mother’s chest to hit the steering wheel, and our heads and bodies to whip forward and then back.…

I can thank the auto for offering me some assistance with finding the vocation I need to accomplish for whatever is left of my life (repairman). I took the auto to Pennsylvania and not get exhausted driving and it likewise knocked some people's socks off when I was driving. My desire for cars begun in my early years in high school, my friends would drive me to and from school, usually we would go to out and grab a bite at restaurants, and occasionally shop at local stores in the Denver metro area, time management was so easy. I was employed three months after my high school in February 2013, six months down the line I saved up enough money to get myself a car. In August 2013, I did a thoroughly search on cars at garages and on internet, I later found one on craigslist website. A nice car from what I saw, but I needed to see it myself…

We woke up on June 3rd and hit the road again. We were going to try and make it as far as we could today. We made plans to meet up with my dad, grandma, aunt, and brother in Minneapolis, or somewhere close to, for lunch. My dad had been in Minneapolis the previous days, and wanted to see me before I was gone. We met up at a restaurant called Doolittles. It was fancier than we thought it was going to be. We had lunch, and it was time to leave. I gave my dad a hug and started to tear up. I had that nervous feeling in my stomach again. My dad reassured me, once again that I would be fine, and that he would see me in a month. We hit the road again. Once we hit Minneapolis, we decided to go to the Mall of America, because they had never been there before. I was shocked. I thought everyone had been there before. We looked around for a little bit and hit the road, once again. We made it to Madison, Wisconsin, that night. We were too tired to do anything, so we went straight to bed.…

It was his first day of school, he texted me through out the day, basically saying she was annoying and such a goody two shoes, in which she was. He said how her sister Bianca was all over him and over Xavier too. So he texted me the address of the cabin, and I went for a drive with a shotgun in the backseat of my Tahoe. Is it the right thing to do? Maybe not. Am I going to scare the living shit out of some kids? Yes I am. “Xavier, what if she shows up with Damon, you know how bad this can look.” I hear a teenage girls’ voice say as two kids walked up to the porch. I guess Xavier cant keep his pants on. I started recording everything, how he pushed her up against the wall and started kissing her. I was going to show this to Damon, to show Alexandria how much of a dirt bag he really is.…

Although childhood was full of good incident. But I remember the one when I was just 10 years old. I was sitting alone in my father's car. My father had parked the car near to a Pizza Hut corner. I was so excited that I was driving the car alone without any fear that it could take anybody life. I was thinking it was just a kid’s game to drive the car. My time spent as a mechanic started with an accident of my own. I was driving home after my sophomore year of college when one of the pistons on my pickup truck cracked due to the blazing Texas heat. I barely made it to the mechanic’s shop near my house. Though the tinkerer in me wanted to do the work myself, I knew that deconstructing the engine down to the block wasn’t a task for a YouTube-trained mechanic. I also knew I couldn’t afford the $1300 in labor. So instead of footing the bill for the repairs, I struck a deal…

When I ride it's like the earth stops at every corner so I can check to make sure a, loud, car isn't roaring towards me. It's like that feeling in your chest that tells you that everything is going to be ok, yet your mind is screaming at you that it won't be. I ride because I was thought that you need to be active in life, but it was never about the one hour of activity time we are supposed to have growing up. it was much more than that. I didn't need help to ride, I needed help to face down my enemies, or conquer my dreams. But I definitely don't need help to force my two legs to move back and forth with such a momentum that my 2 wheels wobbled underneath my narrow, strong, body. That squeak because who really need brakes to work properly,…

After two weeks of having my permit, we were going to a barbecue in Reeding. My mom and her college friends have an annual barbecue every year. My mom thought it would be a good idea to have me drive my whole family there. My mom was in the front seat next to me and my dad and brothers were in the back seat. I wasn't scared but the rest of my family was. You could feel the anxiety in the air. To get to Reeding, you have to take the mass pike. The mass pike is very busy and it is confusing to navigate, especially as a new driver, with all the signs and break offs to new routes. So I was doing well for about forty minutes, even though my mom had a death grip…

At first I thought I had to drive right when my instructor picked me up, but I was relieved when I found out I had to wait because another girl was driving. But soon enough it was my turn, I got more nervous as I was sitting in the driver's seat waiting for the instructor to buy lotto tickets at a store in South Marquette. When he returned he told me I had to back up out of the parking spot we were in. I thought great, i didn't know how to back up. But I tried to remember to check all the mirrors and to turn the wheel the right way. I was so nervous, I kept on messing up and other people were trying to get in and out of the parking lot, that my instructor had to use his emergency brake a couple of times. Finally, we got onto the street and I drove along Lake Superior and Marquette. After a while I felt more comfortable driving, but I was still a little nervous.
