There was a strange wailing sound coming from the next room. I slowly walked toward the sound and opened the door. The wailing sound was coming from bailey, my pet dog. I ran to her to see if she was ok, but she growled at me and i slowly backed away. I called my parents into the room, “ Mom, dad something’s wrong with bailey”. My dad checked on her and he told us she was having puppies soon. I left the room while i let my mom and dad take care of bailey and get her ready to deliver. I went outside with my older brother because the sound was getting louder. My brother Matthew was fifteen and i was turning thirteen in three days. I talked to Matthew about the puppies and what color they would be. We even placed a bet on how many puppies she …show more content…
The first thing I saw was bailey licking one of her puppies. We said “EWWW” in unison, and laughed. I counted her puppies and she had five. “ Haha I won the bet, pay up lil’ sis” matthew teased. I gave him my last pack of gum and punched him in his arm. Bailey looked at me and she looked way better and happier than she did two hours ago. I went up to her and pet her head . She bit me “ OUCH ” I screamed. Matthew seen it coming and he put his fist out to protect me but it was too late. We ran to the bathroom and washed our wounds, our dad just stood their yelling at us. “ You never ever touch a dog or her puppies after she gives birth, they are very territorial over their puppies” mom said. “ We’re sorry mom” I said. “ I was only protecting Jamie” Matthew said. “After you get done i want you two to go to your room, You’re both grounded” our mom …show more content…
It was not easy, at one point we almost chased a cat and matthew tried to ‘mark his territory’ on a fire hydrant. “ Come on hurry up we don’t have much time lef- ROof” I said/ barked. When we got to sherman’s house I had dog ears, dog paws and a tail. Mathew had Dog ears, tongue, tail and dog paws. “What in the world.. Is this a prank because if it is this is the best one i’ve seen yet!” Said Sherman. “ No we need your help, our dog bit us and now we’re turning into thogs..thogs.” I said. I have a dog tongue now and I can’t speak correctly. Sherman eyes widened once he knew this was real, He started doing research on his computer and he found a old riddle. It was in german and he told us it would take a while until he find out what said. I look over at matthew and he turned into a complete dog. “Hurry” I yelled. Sherman read the script and said “ Go to the one that bit you and ask for forgiveness, if it accept your apology you will become human again, GO GO GO! He yelled. I put a leash on Mathew and we ran home to daisy. By time I got home I was a full dog with a human head! Dad saw us and he instantly fainted. I paid no attention I ran into bailey’s room got on all four paws and begged her to please forgive us. I could understand what she was saying. She said “ I’m tired of being the only dog in this house, now i have the two of you to play with.

So, I continued my wait, forever searching for the perfect dog for our family. But to my great dismay, my mom and dad still saw the timing as imperfect. For the next four years, I continued to write a dog on the top of my Christmas list, and continually pined my parents for my own “Rayner and Macey”.…
