Descriptive Essay On The Farm House

The Farm House When I was eight years old I lived on a farm in Wilton, Iowa. I come from a family of farmers so most of my family has lived on a farm from one time to another. My experience was short and sweet but I’ve never been able to forget it. The farm was not only beautiful and full of wonderful experiences, but it has also given me a different outlook on life. The farm where I lived was to most people, any old farm, but to me was so beautiful in more ways than just looks. When you pulled up into the driveway there were two large oak trees with a rope swing on either one where I would sometime swing for hours. There were 2 barns, one small and one large. The small barn was where equipment was stored, and the other was my favorite place …show more content…
Before, and even now, I lived in town and really didn’t know what it was like to have more responsibilities than just keeping my room clean. Having those morning chores really gave me a better sense of what it meant to be responsible. It also made me see the beauty of animals and nature. Taking care of the animals, making sure they were happy and healthy, made me realize that nature is a delicate thing. Farming is difficult and meticulous, but in the end it is more than a job. It is so very rewarding taking care animals and watching them prosper and grow. Living on the farm will always leave a beautiful imprint in my memory of what it means to love and take care of animals in a way I never would have known if it wasn’t for living on the farm.
There were so many beautiful aspects to the farm that and so many marvelous experiences. Experiences filled with laughter and joy tattooed into my memory. Though it’s not only the beauty and experiences I will remember as long as I live, it is my view of life that has been even just slightly changed by living on the farm. To most, living on a farm for a few years would be nothing major to remember, but to me it was the experience of a

After reading “Buckeye” (1997), Sanders really makes me remember my hometown in this sentence, “All that I recognized, aside from the contours of the land, were two weeping willows that my father and I had planted near the road” (p. 4). I lived in three different houses, and each were about 20 minutes apart. In each one of those houses, I hold a memory very close to my heart.…

I lived on over 200 acres where cows grazed in our front lawn. It was almost as if you had the best of both worlds living here because of how close the city was. There were many traditions that the town partook in, but one I will always remember is the Tractor Parade. This was every October and it was always something to look forward to. The Tractor Parade consisted of basically everyone who lived in the town dressing their tractors up and going on a town tour.…

I grew up in a place where the neighbors lived a mile away, the animals ran loose all the time, and if you really felt like it, you could walk outside naked and nobody could really see you. It was a small town where everybody knew everybody; when driving down the road, you knew who was in the car passing you, and by the off chance you didn't, you still waved anyways. Going to the local gas station for a soda or to fill up the truck turned into a trip to go see your friends and visit. The family lived right around the corner, and bonfires were a regular thing. "Sedgewickville Population: 173" is what the town's sign said.…

Last year, we planned a trip up to Canada to a big cattle farm. It was one of the best road trips I have ever been on, and I would die to go back. This is why, we was able to see what it was like to live on a big ranch, from the cows, to seeing how feeding them changes and all the time and responsibility a person has to put into having a successful ranch. Seeing how the lifestyles change when having ten cows’ transfers to one-hundred and possibly more. We was lucky enough to go in calving season, so we got to see baby calves, and we even got to pick one out and name it!…

The summer before I started my first year of high school, I had plenty of anxiety about the tall tale I invented in my own mind that stood before me. Stories about how hard high school were numerous and often regaled on the crowded bus ride home by high schoolers who seemed to have the knowledge of every wise teacher in history combined. which that scared me to death; I had always held my position as a good student who followed the rules of my middle school.…
