Grace shuffled down the hallway of Sampson Middle School with tears brimming in her eyes. A group of 6th grade girls strode behind her giggling when they saw the note. ‘I’m the biggest nerd in Maine’ it read with a green pair of glasses that looked exactly like hers. She was positive that Kimberly Sunnie had put it on her. She had put it just out of her reach just like the other notes she had left the days before. She drew mean pictures of her winning the math contest and slipped them into the slot of her locker. The worst one was a tiny girl standing on the stage with a huge pair of glasses. Just then Heather walked down the hallway towards her, her red curls bouncing. “What’s wrong!?” She asked sincerely. “The note, I can’t reach it.” She whimpered as …show more content…
So I have assigned Grace to tutor you, Kimberly.”
“Really! Her!” Kimberly shouted overflowing with anger. Kimberly stomped away and Grace had to run to catch up with her.
“ So, Kimberly now that I’m going to be your tutor we might get alo-”
“SHUT UP” Kimberly screamed “We are not going to be friends and you are not going to be my tutor!”
Kimberly stormed out of school and slowed when she reached the middle of the road. She was so caught up in her anger she didn’t see the texting driver barreling towards her. Grace tried to tell her but she ignored her. Finally she shouted “KIMBERLY, THE CAR! LOOK OUT!” Kimberly jumped out of the way just in time as the car passed her honking and driver cursing. She sprang up, brushed the dirt off her miniskirt and ran towards her house. The next day at school Kimberly walked up to Grace as soon as she walked through the front door. “Why did you do that?. I mean I’ve always been so mean to you.” Kimberly asked looking scared of the reply. “I couldn’t have just let that car hit you.” Grace said confused. “What I’m trying to say is thank
