Jokingly I asked, “Oh, man, can I come with you guys? I love camping!”
Surprisingly, Josh replied, “Well, yeah I asked my parents if you could come, and they said sure.”
Because I was close to Josh and his family, I knew he wasn’t kidding. After some back and forth about whether or not my parents would let me go, we parted for the day. When I went home that night, I brought up the camping trip to my mom while she was falling asleep.

Looking back at it, I realize that all we saw were a couple squirrels, some birds, and tons of trees, but, in the moment as an imaginative kid, it felt like we were on a hike through a safari. While we were playing a competitive game of one-on-one tag, it began to storm. We continued to play the game, but then we were trying to sprint through mud and thick, wet grass, which only made it even more exciting.
