“It Was That Moment”
4 hours in the cramped, crummy, car that smells of leather, popcorn, and…Cheez-It's, definitely Cheez-Its. We had been driving a bunch during the trip, but this was the longest road, the road home. Car sickness and headaches had been one of my enemies on the long car rides, so I was giving my brain a break from the artificial radiation of the tv and computer screen and from looking to the side to play cards with my brother which was usually the cause of my discomfort.
I watched the trees, buildings, and other cars go by in slow motion while I cogitated all the fond memories about my vacation that swarmed and swam in my mind a flock of little sparrows flying in their curious patterns in the sky eating their supper…
The emerald green waters of the Virgin River, rushing through Zion Canyon. The red and black walls with scattered plants here and there. The slippery wet rocks and the strong current of the water created a natural water slide. The naughty squirrels that almost ate our snack. My mom, dad, aunt, uncle struggling to keep up with my cousins, my brother and I. The cold water slowly seeping into my tennis shoes contrasting with the hot 100 degree temperature. Adventure tubing down the river through the whitewater sections where my cousins, my brothers, and my rafts twisted and turned

My mom had been yackking about how lucky we were and how nobody was luckier than us and that it took sooooooo much effort to put this together, but I never understood that until now. Just a moment ago (an 8th of a second) I realized what my parents had done for me and how extremely important this will be in my life and how many people do this… at all. What kind of risks that they took so they could do this for us. Then 3 thoughts floated into my head like a feather after falling from a bird in the sky onto a pond with the ripples moving smoothly away from it. Grateful, appreciative,

Have you ever stopped caring so much that whatever happens, happens? I remember the time I had gotten in trouble by my mom because I had walked home from school. It was a gloomy day from it being so cloudy and cold. I was talked into walking home during school by friends whom, at the time didn't care about school as much as I did, cared nothing of school. I didn’t like it, but then again I started not to care either.…

It was a dark summer night, the frigid desert wind seemed to seep its way into the heated car. My mom warned me that desert nights were chilly, and I should’ve brought a jacket, but I insisted I didn’t need one. So there I was, in the back seat of our little blue Buick in an unknown bank parking lot almost freezing, many miles away from home…. I was in Santa Fe, New Mexico for my first time. It was the summer of 2015, school had just let out my papaw informed me we were leaving to visit his sister, my great Aunt Jeanie.…

Writing is not my strong suite; however, as a child, I did not have many problems starting a writing prompt. I can quickly start writing my issue, but when it comes to editing or trying to find the words to state what I am thinking in my head, I have difficulty. The most vivid writing experience for me was when I was in high school, and I had to write an essay on what I wanted my life to be in the future. Little did I know that my life would be different than the way it is today. In my current professional experiences, I use writing for communicating with my coworkers and higher staff, since I am a manager in a kitchen establishment.…

“A handful of moments I wished I could change, but I was carried away,” are the lyrics that remind a lot about myself. Growing up, and even about two years ago, I was insanely shy and did not talk much around people, friends, or family. The way I talked to people was in a timid, soft spoken way, which looking back, was awfully embarrassing. My friends and family would laugh at me because I could not talk well, and when I did talk, they acted as if I were a baby who just said its first words. With all of that nonsense going on, their idiotic response kind of made me not want to say anything anymore.…

My story begins on an Excel Sheet. An Excel sheet on a Compaq computer in a garage filled with giant cardboard boxes. Probably because I couldn’t see through my teary eyes and smudged glasses.…

I entered the door of my local high school, and I felt the uneasiness fly away. I moved through the hall where on the side I saw the countless golden and silver trophies. As I continued down the hall I saw a desk that has four pieces of paper on the bottom with letters that were organized through last name. A's-G's were on the far left while S's-Z's were on the right. I went toward the desk to get my schedule.…
