Joseph. He was tall, curly hair, and impressively built. When I first saw joseph he was completely unaware as to what he had contracted. 12 Genoese trading ships docked at the Sicilian port of Messina after there tiring journey throughout the Black Sea. The ship was met by greeters and to their surprise the only thing that the ships had were loads of dead body’s. Huge black boils grew on the bodies and oozed a gruesome dark red blood.Joseph, however, remained untouched, unharmed but, unconscious. The air stunk of rotting flesh, and that of pesky rodents. I reached in and grabbed her poor soul. it was warm, and happy to be rid of pain. I knew that this was only the beginning, my workload was about to be more than I could handle. A few weeks had passed since the healers incident. Josephs father had contracted the plague as well as his mother. I watched him as he frantically tried to stop it from taking his beloved parents. There was nothing he could do, it had completely consumed everything, the plague came like a swarm of locusts. Everything around joseph began to crumble to an end. His whole world was destroyed and he was trapped inside of a living hell.

I never knew until now. Joseph was special. I suppose thats what his father whispered to him. He was immune to the plague. being a captain and constantly around the rodents he produced a sort of immunity. I watched him as his mind changed. The thought of loosing everything you love is enough to drive any man insane, no matter how special they were. He possessed a gift, but it didn 't last long, his intentions changed and soon enough I was carrying his soul
