When I first arrived at the school, I noticed that the walls inside of the building as you walked in were very bright colored. I also saw a few bulletin boards that were full of children’s artwork and there were colorful signs hung up on the walls. This indicates that the school was a friendly and welcoming environment. The bright colors also make you feel happy and attracted my attention. It also showed that the school cared and was proud of their student’s artwork. The facilities were maintained very well. The floor and stairs looked clean and there was very little pieces of trash on the floor. The bathrooms were also very clean. There were plenty of toilet paper and paper towels.
As I walked into the school to sign in at the office, there was their mission statement hanging on the door and it said. “The mission of Silver Hill Horace Mann Charter School is to educate, inspire, challenge, and nurture all students (US). Our thriving learning environment (Classroom & School) helps us build and develop higher academic skills, positive citizenship, and character traits.” Silver Hill’s mission statement was

After leaving for the day of my visit I wanted to go back the next day because I had so much fun with the kids. What I saw, heard, and learned corresponded with what we learned in class this semester. Some examples of this include, the core curriculum, grouping by math levels, exit tickets, classroom safety, and the effective use of wait time. After this visit, I am absolutely convinced that I was meant to be a teacher. I had a great time interacting with the students and I didn 't want to leave. One child, even came up to me at the end of the day and asked me if I was coming again the next day and when I told him no, his smile turned into a frown. This just melted my heart and I knew this was the perfect job for

It was 5:15 in the morning, and my mother had just finished giving birth to a healthy, 7 pound, baby girl—me. After I was born, my mother had to fend me off from dozens of nurses, who all wanted to hold me and take a look at me. My mother said that I was the chubbiest and cutest baby she had ever seen. My father and mother both cried tears of joy right after I was born. Apparently, I was the only girl to have been born in that hospital that whole night/morning.…

I arrived at Rancho Buena Vista High School at 12:00 pm. I waited in a line for about 20 minutes until I reached to the security section. Before we could enter Rancho Buena Vista’s Stadium, we had to be checked for weapons or anything dangerous. I took everything from my pockets and placed them on the table where the securities took a look. Then I was patted down and walked through a metal detector.…

Additionally, this year was made special since I finally choose to stay after school and join a program that has changed my life forever and given me various opportunities. I went outside to find the neighborhood kids playing on the streets. Most of these kids went to my school, Highville Ridge Middle School. Many of the kids had their siblings with them because most moms usually make the oldest take the little ones with them so they can all get out of the house. Anyways I didn’t have to worry about that because today my brother and sister were at their dad’s house. The sky was a dark shade of grey today and it looked like it was going to rain soon.…

A new journey in my life began on August 13th, 2014 as my school principal cut the red ribbon celebrating the opening of a brand new high school. Little did I know, it would become a journey of growth and unique experiences unlike any before it, further refining and adding to my inner sculpture of identity and talent. I was going to Liberty High School, therefore it was necessary that I adapt--quickly, yet strategically. Throughout my life, I had never imagined that my high school experience would reach and exceed my expectations in the way that it did. I had the unique opportunity most people don’t get in life: to be part of a grassroots movement in establishing a culture that would enrich future students with tradition and values for many years to come.…
