Descriptive Essay About Savasana

Savasana is known for the one of the final poses in yoga. It creates a deep restoration and relaxation for the individual to escape the “real world” and enter a familiar and or comfortable place where an individual can relax the body, mind and soul. My favorite place to visit in my mind during savasana is the beach. I first imagine my body lying on a beach chair. The chair has flimsy straps across each side that supports my body and towel. I can either prop the chair completely up, or lay it straight down, almost touching the sand. During this moment I decide to lay the chair down with my back against the straps. As I look up and open my eyes towards the sky, I see the sun glistening down on my body, giving me a sense of overwhelming warmth, which subconsciously represents my life in many stressful moments. However as I slowly start to overcome the heat I picture a huge palm tree shadowing over my body giving me a rush of cooling, comfort. I must remember in life that I need to balance each of my problems such as warmth and coldness. To, not get too overheated by a simple situation, and or problem, and learn to …show more content…
The water is sparkling in the sun with hints of different shades of blues. I can smell the salt in the air and feel the ocean breeze cross my neck. I slowly stand up and approach the ocean water. As I put one foot in I can feel the bitter warmness of the water soak my feet into the ocean. My body slowly starts to sink into the sand as each wave overcomes my legs, giving me a strong pose, and letting my body over stand each wave. As I stand strong while each wave crashes over my leg, I get a sense of confidence, which embarks me to think of the strong, independent woman that I am. Not even a crash of a wave can topple over me, which then symbolizes the significant of my attitude, stating that I can make it thought any trouble in life, as long as I stay confident and strong, such as me in the
