My name Sydney also spelled as Sydnee, Sydnie, Sidnie, or even Sydni. Sydney can be a boy or girl name. Sidney is variation of a surname, but was later changed the spelling to Sydney. Sydney is most commonly used in English and is french for Dennis. Helmes is my last name. Most people spell it Helms, which is English and is a variant for helm 1, Helmes is german and is patronymic for helm 3, somehow these are linked to one another and have probably changed in spelling over the years. Helmes means descendant of helm or protector of the lord. If I was a boy, my name would have been Cole. My parents have always liked the name and because I was a girl they named me Sydney. Although they still received their wish because 7 years after I was born, my mom was pregnant with my little brother, which his name Cole. Whenever I go there it makes me happy. I love to see the palm trees and the sight of the crystal blue ocean. In the summer of 6th grade I went to Destin, FL and it was so much fun. The only thing I disliked about the trip was the 12 hour car ride, getting sick, and sunburn. When we first saw the house, it really big house. We went to the beach the first day we walked there and saw the waves were huge. The second day was fun we rode the waves into shore and after a long day we headed inside for dinner. When I looked at myself, I looked like a lobster. I was so sunburnt. Fast Forward 3 days… The last day of the trip was the worst. I woke up with a headache and sore throat. It progressively got worse as the day went on and I just wanted to go home. My gums swelled up and sores started to appear all over my mouth. The car ride home was miserable because my mouth hurt so bad. When we finally were back to boring Ohio I went to the doctor and they said I had a very bad case of strep.
