My Love For Makeup Essay

Individuals all over the world are passionate about applying cosmetics. From men to woman women, Makeup makeup is a part of all different kinds of cultures and rituals like the Indian and Egyptian costumes. There are so many reasons why I love the cosmetology industry and applying makeup is my favorite hobby that I can enjoy with friends or even by myself . Growing up being raised by my grandmother, my favorite part of the day would be when we used to get ready to go out together. I loved watching her apply her makeup so nicely and what seemed to be perfectly. I would watch her put on her foundation that was in the perfect color to match her smooth skin. Then, her eye shadow that always coordinated with something she was wearing. Lastly, she would apply her lipstick that was a different beautiful shade of red every signal single day. She always taught me to keep myself presentable at all times. From here on, my love for makeup grew stronger and stronger. Over the years, my interest in cosmetology has grown so deeply that I’ve researched and learned that make up originated in the Indian and Egyptian cultures. One was kohl which is the same as kajal in the Indian culture. It was used on the waterline and around the eye made of a substance called galena (dark grey ore of lead). The other was known as malachite. Malachite is a green eye paint made of a green carbonate of copper. Malachite was used in the early Predynastic period. During the late Predynastic period facial makeup included stain for lips and cheeks that was produced from red ochre. The naturally colored clay was minded, washed then dried in the sun to achieve the lovely red pigment. In ancient Egypt beauty was a sign of holiness. Everything had a spiritual purpose including cosmetics, which is why makeup became an integral part of their everyday
