Descriptive Grandma's House

On this intensely brisk night, I ponder the evening 's activities that I plan to attend tonight. It 's almost pitch dark outside, but I choose to walk instead of taking a cab to my destination: Grandma 's house. It 's only a couple of miles and I know I can manage the weather for the time being. I stride along the perfectly paved cobblestone path that snow shovels have conveniently made for me. I take keen glances at every detail I see, as far as my eyes can wander. On my right, there are children in the city park building sideways, clumpy snow forts to protect themselves from incoming snowballs. To my left, there 's a little bakery with aromas so heavenly, the wafting scent travels its way through my nostrils; my stomach begins to produce a low growl in response. I know Grandma has cooked me her famous holiday feast and I can hardly wait. Walking through blankets of pure white snow on this merry eve, I realized how much I adore this time of year. After what seems only like a short trek, I stumble upon my Grandma 's house. The path leading up to her front door has bright red and white lit candy canes as if they were handrails on a bridge. The roof has white Christmas lights stapled rigidly in their place along with a Santa Claus statue stuck inside the brick laden chimney. The thing I adore most …show more content…
I throw my paper plate away and down an entire glass of ice water to replenish the drought in my throat. As the night rolls to an end, I find myself baking cookies with my Grandma into shapes of reindeers and Santa Claus and decorating them with red and green icing. I thank my grandmother for another wonderful Christmas holiday and it 's because of her why I adore this time of year immensely. Nothing will ever amount to the ultimate Christmas spirit and holiday cheer that every holiday lover will spread this

From what you have seen of the Mikaelson mansion, it’s fully decked out with Christmas decorations and not to mention the tree was just the frosting on the cake. Marcel nodded and strolled on over towards the massive pine Christmas tree, decorated with red, gold and white ornaments. There was easily over a hundred presents under the tree, all mostly from the Mikaelsons to Hope. “I’m going to go and grab a drink, would you like anything, Lijah?” “I’m fine, I need to go talk to my Rebekah.…

When one thinks of two towns, most people generally assume that these towns share practically no differences whatsoever. However, if one can properly analyze two specific towns, Bensalem, Pennsylvania, and Bethlehem, New York, their assumptions would quickly be proven wrong because of the varying differences of these towns. Among these differences are the environments of the towns, as well as the effect of technology on the two contrasting communities. Bethlehem is a rural community that resembles a town of the past, while Bensalem is a suburban township that represents the modern standard of a society.…

The summer breeze brushed past my sundress as I walked down the lane. My over-sized brown boots dragging on the ground. The vibrant sunlight kissing my face with its glory as it peeks through the leafy branches of each tree overhead. As I pass friendly faces down the street my smile starts to widen. The laughter and neighborly conversation that surrounds me as I stride further along the lane fills me with joy and happiness.…

Tamales Through Time This year’s craziness and smells of carne and my family gathering in my grandparents’ kitchen brings a big, bubbly smile to my face, like always, because I know this means the official start of Christmas, and Christmas means I get to be with my family and Santa is going to bring me presents! My mom says that she heard that I’m on Santa’s nice list for the 5th year in a row! I always look forward to tamale making because I get to be around all my cousins and aunts and uncles and watch them make yummy food for our Christmas Eve feast while I make gingerbread houses! And every year when I ask if I can help this time, grandma always explains while grinning that “you can’t help with the tamales until you’re tall enough to reach the counter because someone so tiny will get knocked into the masa and then we will have tamales that taste like Alejandria!…

Every Christmas Eve our family gathers around the coffee table in our apartment in New York City. During the day we go to see the tree at Rockefeller Center and buy chocolate candies from the Greenwood Pastry on the corner. Uncle Riley leads the way as we walk the streets until the light begins to fade between the office towers and the crippled gargoyles forever perched on the corners of the buildings that illuminate a golden age gone by. We laugh together and reminisce about the previous Christmases we have spent together. The elevator seems quieter on these nights, almost as if it has a respect for the holiday, but I know it’s just because we’re all crammed in there together.…
