Insecurities are struggles that everyone, male or female have. It is those features about ourselves that stick out at us every time we look in the mirror or a picture is taken of us. I read this and discovered that the situation I had to walk through was a quite common one, and the insecurities I had about my appearance were quite similar across the board with thousands of other girls as well. Even at young ages, society plants the seeds of “beautiful” in our minds, and it almost feels like its always just out of reach. No matter what you do to the outside, there is always the inner young girl trying to achieve her idea of beautiful. As research and personal experience shows doing this can have hard effects on the hearts of young girls. As an individual, discovering and embracing our hearts, and learning to clothe ourselves in the intricate detail of our hearts is a long journey, but it is one worth taking. In study done by Unilever and Dove, they shared the statistic that “seventy-seven percent [of women] agree that beauty can be achieved through attitude, spirit, and other attributions have noting to do with physical appearance”. Physical appearance is beautiful and something that should not just get thrown to the curb here. The point is that beauty is MORE than just physical appearance, and when our inner beauty is what we clothe ourselves in on the outside, we discover that true beauty about ourselves as individual
