“The 5:45 flight to Chicago, Illinois will begin boarding seats B15-30 in 5 minutes,” the flight secretary announced. I glanced around at everyone gathering their bags, unplugging laptops, wrapping up their food, and getting ready to board the plane. People were headed in all sorts of directions: work, going home, visiting families, or going to run the marathon. I was growing impatient, but at the same time, I wanted to stop everything and take in all of the sounds, smells, feelings, and everything else the bustling airport had to offer. The wonder and excitement of the flight and what was ahead felt truly amazing. It was in that moment, I discovered my heart for traveling. Right then and there, I could see myself traveling the world to various places and experiencing different cultures. The seatbelt light was on for almost the entire trip, and we were constantly being told to stay seated. I grew anxious and nervous and just wanted to land. Usually, for me, flights are great and I enjoy them, but this one only had me scared and needing my feet on the ground. Once we landed, we got off the plane, grabbed our luggage, and met my aunt and her friend, Laurie, and I hailed my first cab. Living in the city is also a great desire of mine, so this small action gave me even more excitement. I stepped out of the cab into the frigid, chilly air of Chicago in November. The icy air filled me with energy to continue the first night of our three day trip. I was already dreading the time we would have to
