We all had the same hardships of being required to sign out of class to use the restroom and only being allowed to use one of the stairwells in the high school building. The rules at my high school were quite obnoxious to deal with but that was what brought the students into the same mindset. We all agreed on this one thing: rules at Curtis are to the extreme. Now that does not mean we were one big happy family. There would be quite a few spats between guys with big heads. She was very relaxed and tried to make school fun for us. A couple times during my senior year she threw the senior class surprise parties where we got out of class and got to eat some good food. She would also hold us to higher standards than the average high school student because she believed that we could achieve excellence if we worked hard for it. However, she also had “favorites”. Of course she couldn 't show special attention to every one because she had a lot of things she was in charge of. However, you could always sense when someone was more important to her than another.
