Essay on Description Of The Chambers Elementary School Library
Chambers Elementary school is located in the Alief Independent School District, in TX. The school serves about seven hundred students in grades PK-4. The student population is mainly Hispanic and African American. The majority of these students qualifies for free or reduced lunch and benefit from some activities and programs that target ESL individuals.
Currently, the library holds a collection of about 70,000 items, which include books, cassettes, audiobooks, eBooks, professional materials, educational databases, reference works, periodicals, DVDs, and CDs. The primary collection is composed of both fiction and nonfiction, with fiction comprising about half of the collection. There are also instructional materials for teachers and Reading/Language Arts (LA) specialists. The Chambers Elementary School library provides the school community with access to library collections and other learning resources either by visiting the library or electronically through the school’s web page. The users of this library are mostly students and teachers.
