These are qualities I hope others see in me as

The Bertuli Story It is known that passing stories down from one family member to another keeps the memories alive. The same can be said for those who have served in our military. In interviewing Mr. Leonard Bertuli, a United States Marine from Mark, IL, my partner Seth Carlson and I learned more about his life before entering military, his experiences while in the military, specifically during those taking place during the Vietnam war.…

In reading Harry & Mary Meinhardt’s legacy, I was reminded of my own career in the military. I also enlisted in the United States Army right out of high school, at the tender ager of 17. And much like Harry, I proudly served for twenty-six years. I rose the rank of Sergeant First Class before transitioning to a Warrant Officer. Having an education has always been of value to me and so has the idea of helping others.…

Veterans are a group of people that write a blank check totaling their life to the government. They fight to defend our country and every American citizen. Then when their service is done they come home to be unnerved and underappreciated. Veterans are: mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, husbands, wives, and friends. The main thing we should do is make them known to others, so they know that we are there for them and let them know their service is more than appreciated, and we should let them know that and not let them be forgotten.…
