Head Mounted Display
What is a Head Mounted Display (HMD) ? HMD is a virtual reality technology that allow user to experience game and watching movie like never before, the main objective of HMD is to allow the user to enjoy the game or movies feeling like he or she is really there and getting the full experience out of the product.
The user will have to wear the HMD over their head and fit it nicely onto the eye just like wearing a spectacle or a helmet and he or she will be looking into the HMD which will have two small displays with lenses and semi-transparent mirrors.
The display of the HMD may have different type of screen which may include LCDs , Liquid crystal on silicon , OLED , CRT and some may even have multiple display in it to

Some also worry that the glass will be capable of face recognition which will allow the user to recognise strangers , but such technology is only available to the police officer now and it is a iphone application which cost $3000 .Although there are criticism on the glass , there are also praises for the glass . Their first created product the Oculus rift is still in production and on March 2014 Facebook have decided to buy the product for US$2 billion
Palmer Luckey graduated from University of Southern California Institute for Creative Technologies and during his time there , he has the largest amount of HMDs in the world , he was also the moderator for Meant to be Seen (MTBS) 's discussion forums . Through the forums Palmer Luckey took ideas from everyone and developed a new idea of creating a new HMD that was much better then what was already in the market for gamers. The reason Palmer named his product Oculus was because in latin oculus also has the meaning of eye and the word was use in a meeting that Palmer was in which gives him the idea to use it for the new product name .

Oculus Rift was actually in a kickstarter campaign which manage to raise US$ 2.5 million to create the product . It is schedule that the rift will be out in the year 2016 . After the company got their money to create the Rift , they manage to create 5 prototypes which 2 of it was actually sold to the public as development kit DK1 and DK2 in 2012 and 2014 respectively
