A Developmental Psychologist requires that an individual holds a PhD in developmental psychology. However, there are jobs available for those who have a master’s degree. The income potential varies as with other psychology careers, with an average income of $94,590 annually. The potential for growth is 19%, the same as all other psychology careers, and is 7% higher than other occupations. Additionally, a Developmental Psychologist is required to meet state licensing if they have a private practice or provide counseling to clients in other settings (Study, 2016).

Experimental Psychologist conduct research designed to further understand human thought processes and behavior patterns. It is not uncommon for Experimental Psychologist to work with animals, such as monkeys in laboratory settings. Experimental psychology makes the advancement in understanding memory, perception, and behavior possible for all areas in psychology. Additionally, many Experimental psychologists are instructors in universities. Other work settings include corporations, consulting firms, and government agencies (Study, 2016).
I find the whole idea of conducting experiments rather fascinating, and appreciate the work experimental psychologists do in order to advance our understanding of the human condition. However, I do not think I would fare well in this career field as I do not like mice at all, and secondly, I could not harm a monkey or other animal. Forensic psychologists are required to obtain state licensing; in addition, they may also hold certification in Forensic Psychology through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). Depending on the area one chooses to specialize in, having some education in law can be helpful (Study, 2016).
A Forensic Psychologist is quite unique as they do hold positions within law enforcement, as many television programs project, however, I am positive it is not as glamorous. They can also work with victims of crimes; rape and abuse along with providing counseling for a victim of a crime to testify in court. A Forensic Psychologist may also testify in a court of law. Working with people who are accused of a crime to determine their psychological health; competency, and understanding right from wrong.
