On October 14th, 2016, I conducted a child observation in my cousin’s home in Elk Grove, CA in the morning. I was sitting in the living room on a chair observing my 3 months old niece as she was lying down on a mat getting entertained by her mom. My niece’s name is Sakura. Amid the earliest stages and toddlerhood stage of a child, regularly there will be dramatic changes in the child 's physical development. A child 's physical development first begins when the baby begins figuring out how to master self-movement, for example, moving their hands and holding objects. While watching Sakura plays with her mother, she continued attempting to kick her leg into her mother 's stomach. Her mom then started holding her leg delicately to "reduce the probability that the behavior will occur again by presenting unpleasant stimulus" (Berk, 2013, p. 8). Berk (2013) believes that physical development incorporates "changes in body size, proportions, appearance, functioning of body systems, perceptual and motor capacities, and physical health" (Berk, 2013, p. 9). Based on my observation of Sakura, when she was continually moving her legs and arms while playing with her mom, I believe by doing that would help her to build up her motor capacities since that would help her muscles get to be stronger. Berk likewise believes that, "Infants acquire new motor skills by building on previously acquired capacities. Eager to explore her world" (Berk, 2013, p. 118). In light of my perception, I trust…
