Present Yourself as Equal Rather Than Superior on page 69 describes how you should not antagonize others or view yourself as being better than someone else because it could cause resentment and defensiveness. Instead, stay humble, treat others with respect and work together as a team to build a sense of camaraderie. I love my husband very much but there is something that he does that irks my nerves. Example: There had been a few times when my husband meets someone new, some how, some way the money topic surfaces in conversation and he mentions his yearly salary. Some people may not find this an issue but I find it distasteful to boast on how much money you make. He is also ex-military and has compared his job and achievements in the Army to his cousin’s military job and achievements in the Marines. Another example is how my supervisor speaks and treats certain employees. There isn’t much teamwork in my department and it is because the manager and the supervisor assign a job duty to each individual employee and it rotates weekly. There is a sheet posted every Monday with employee names on it and the job duty next to the name. My supervisor also has a control issue with giving out work and picking the work that the employees do. We are all adults and we know our job, but yet we are treated like children. This again is an example of Present Yourself as Equal Rather Than Superior on page
