Examples Of Effective Communication

Describe three successful examples of effective communication:

1) Between a teacher and family
I am a part of the morning staff, so I rarely get to tell the parents in person about the day their child has. However, I write detailed daily reports. Since I work in the toddler room, I try to write down every time the child attempted to use the potty, when they successfully use the potty, or even when they have a hard time going to the potty. I also write on their reports what they did for the day, their crafts, how they were feeling and what they ate. That way even though I can 't say it personally, the parents still get to know what their child did. This was a successful communication because I left a message for the parents and they receive

I learn valuable information from the parents in the morning. For example, I have one parent that always tells me how well their child slept or didn 't sleep. She tells me how well the child ate what kind of a mood she’s been in and she tells me this so I know maybe she might be cranky today or she might want seconds for breakfast. This is an important time that give me insight into the child’s life outside of our center. This is also effective communication because the parents are relaying important information to me and I a listening intentively. Whereas, in the first scenario I was doing the talking and the parents were …show more content…
You need to update them on who has eaten, who has been changed, any incidents, and the general atmosphere. Are the children really mellow today? One instance I can recall is recently when I switched classes with a co-worker to go on my break. I remember telling the incoming teacher everyone was recently changed, they all had eaten their breakfast and they were all very excited for the day. I remember telling her about an incident where one child got hit in the face with a toy. I also recall telling her that the child doing the hitting was having a hard time keeping her hands to herself. I also remember telling her that one other child was having a tough morning and was a bit emotional and needed a little more love. This was effective communication because i was able to relay important information to the other teacher so that she could have an easier transition into the classroom.

I also recall having to communicate with my director in order to get supplies for the kitchen and my classroom. I wrote the list and gave it into her. She made and order and my supplies were ordered and delivered. This was effective communication both verbally and written. I relayed the information, she received it and acted upon it and I received notice

When we have new parents and children coming to look round our nursery my manager will give them a guided tour of the inside and the outdoor area, so then the child and the parents can get a feel for the nursery and know what their child will be getting up too daily. We always offer new parents a welcome pack which holds information about all the staff and their photos, the care for the child, our menu examples to show that we have a range of food types to offer and much more. We always ask parents to tell us about their child’s routine so we can get to know the child more, if they have a sleep, if they use a comforter, their individual needs (inhaler, medication) etc.…

Childcare Director Interview (My answers for these were taken from both past conversations I have had with the director as well as my cooperating teacher since the director was gone recently due to a family issue out of state. I saw here very briefly on my last day for the first time in a while and because she was in the middle of something I only got to thank her for letting me be there this semester before I left. So, I am focusing mostly on the program’s newly expanding private school named Legacy Christian Academy which the kindergarten class I was with falls under because that’s where I was able to get most of my information.)…

The reason why it’s important to discuss developmental milestones with families regularly from the beginning is because we need to help the child achieve the milestones. When the caregivers aren’t present, it’s important for the family members to try and help the child at home with achieving the milestone. From the beginning to the present, many things could change in the child’s developmental milestones. Like to see if the child has made any progress since the beginning and if they did then head towards the new milestone and if not think of ways to help achieve the milestone. I have demonstrated good communication skills whilst implementing work experience at a day care centre, for children aged zero to five years old. I implemented a few group activities with the children; I was able to enhance my communication skills when communicating with the children as I used a clear soft tone when conversing with the children, to ensure that the children understood what I was explaining. This is significant as good communication skills is essential in a health and social care setting for the reason that nurses need to communicate with the patient and also with their careers when conducting treatment so that the patient and their family are aware of what the nurses are implementing. In addition, it is important that nurses communicate with other health and social care professionals in order to receive the best advice and…

How to adapt communication to meet different communication needs of adults It is important that we remain sensitive to the needs of other adults, particularly if they have communication difficulties. It is possible that you will automatically adapt to the way you communicate with them without realising that you have done so. We often change the way we react to others, depending on the way to which they react to us. For example, if you are speaking to a parent or carer who is hearing impaired, you might want to make sure that you are facing them and making eye contact so that they can lip read.…
