For my service hours for Public Health class, I served at the Boys and Girls Club where I worked with children from the age of five to twelve. Upon arriving at the Boys and Girls club last week, I came across a few thoughts of how it would be to work with children. The first thought in my head was that working with children isn’t going to be challenging and might be the easiest service I have done. I expected the work to be very stress-free and less overwhelming than any other services. Another expectation I had was that volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club would be like any other experience, like the one of many times when I have tutored kids.…

I once attended training where they set for people who are attending to have a minimum of 3 years in a specific career field. The entire first day of the three day session, the people putting on the course went over basic knowledge that people with 3 years of experience should already know. For a week of training for this audience, I think an entire day review was excessive. I think it is important to know your audiences knowledge levels not only in speaking, but in everyday communication. If you don’t already know then ask.…

My primary career interest is in law, with my end goal being a federal judgeship. Within the past year, I have discovered, and not once doubted, my deep-seated passion in following the Supreme Court of the United States and its justices. Indeed, the idea of sorting through legal texts and briefs while charged with the responsibility to settle a vigorous legal, and perhaps social, debate appeals greatly to me. This appeal is so great that I have, actually, put myself in the shoes of a judge by reading Court opinions – majorities, concurrences, and dissents – in full and extracting my own verdict.…
