While Mussolini did indeed transition Italy into the 20th century, he did so at the cost of the country’s social and economic development. These failures continued into World War Two, where Fascist forces suffered heavy losses reminiscent of the Great War and propaganda proved insufficient in masking this defeat. Even protection from the far-superior German Fascists could not save Mussolini who was eventually hung, not for war crimes but rather for mistreatment of the Italian people in the form of poor leadership and ill-advised domestic…

If things were not worse already individuals residing in gang affiliated neighborhoods are being labeled and punished for actions that have not even occurred yet. Police claims this as prevention and in Legitimated Suppression: Inner-City Mexican Americans and the Police, Robert J. Duran states, “The majority of gang members across the United States have been racially and ethnically labeled by police officers as Latino (47 percent) or African-American (31 percent), and they have been mostly poor (85 percent)” (Duran p.193). My problem with this quote is that the data gathered from police officers, is that it seems to be over-exaggerated because not every person of color is gang affiliated.…

Mussolini 's speech was written to introduce his desires as the Premier of Italy and also to portray himself as a strong, charismatic leader that would lift Italy from troubled times. It is interesting that he is not focussed that much on the policies that he will launch, but instead outlining rather broad principles. He also reflects on the actions he has not undertaken since his nomination of the Premier in October 1922. This essay will argue that this speech shows Mussolini in a weak position of power and eventually wanted to overthrow democracy in Italy because of the language he uses, his attitudes to violence and attitudes to democracy.…

Preston-Roedder makes a point that a genuine belief in faith in humanity also makes ongoing assessment of whether faith in humanity is paying off. For example, the belief in faith in humanity necessarily prevents unfair prosecution and punishment of innocence people. A belief in faith in humanity discourages intentional wrongdoing to others by biasing the cognitive assessment of them in a favorable light. In Bread and Wine, Silone claims that a Fascist state requires complete unanimity to function properly and that that type of government must use military force and a massive propaganda campaign to win its required support. In this sense, the Fascist government cannot act on the assumption of faith in humanity.…

Despite antisocial, hostile, or immoral behavior, the anti-hero always somehow seems morally correct to the audience or the reader. Characters who were before social pariahs have now evolved into a template for fictional protagonists. And so dawned the era of the anti-hero.
